Irene returned to an early life interest in art through experimenting with a variety of drawing & printmaking courses, including the Diploma in Printmaking at Red Hot Press. She works mainly with linocut, collagraphs & dry point.
‘I’m currently experimenting with different papers, textures & printing from found objects – such as feathers or pieces of fallen tree bark. Collagraphy lends itself well to this, as did printing direct from tree bark with linocut in my Love Trees project. I love the way this brings nature more directly into the picture’.
Irene’s work has been shown at St Barbes, God’s House Tower, Southampton City Art Gallery & Hilliers.
