What got you into printmaking?

I was introduced to various printmaking processes during my foundation course at Harrow School of Art and then took my degree in printed textiles at West Surrey college of Art and Design.

I have always loved pattern and colour and after retiring from teaching art to adults I have really enjoyed going back to printmaking.

What inspires your printmaking?

I enjoy taking my watercolour and acrylic paintings and turning them into relief or intaglio prints incorporating pattern and texture.

I am also fascinated by repeat patterns and find inspiration all around me in nature, architecture and many other sources. When you start or look around you notice pattern everywhere and I have been found photographing manhole covers, railings and even wheel hubs for inspiration.

Where might people have seen your work?

Since joining Cowprint I have so enjoyed taking part in their exhibitions. For several years before I have been part of Hampshire Open Studios as well as organising exhibitions to showcase my own and my students work.
